New LEGO Ambassador cycle

Hello LEGO Enthusiasts,

We’re happy to announce that the nomination process for LEGO Ambassador Cycle 7 is now open.

The LEGO Ambassador Program is designed to give the AFOL Community a direct line into the LEGO Company. The Program is essentially a gathering of community representatives that speak on behalf of the larger communities they are a part of. This group is able to bring forward the interests, concerns and questions directly to LEGO Employees.

As Adult or Teenage Fans of LEGO, you bring an important perspective to the LEGO Group. We respect your creativity and passion for the LEGO brand.

In December 2008, we did an online survey to learn more about the global AFOL (defined as ages 20+) and TFOL (defined as ages 13-19) communities and for your information, we have listed the key findings below. Now we ask you to take this survey again. It include some of the same questions, but also a set of new questions for you. These surveys will be conducted on a quarterly basis this year.

LEGO Ambassador from DoubleBrick Community

Several minutes ago this year’s LEGO Ambassadors election results were announced. And we proudly inform you that among the elected is a representative of our Community – a well-known and honored member Dan. We all would like to congratulate Dan on his election as an Ambassador and we expect him to do his best in the hard mission of popularization of LEGO in Russia. Those who may wish to congratulate Dan personally may do it on our forum.

LEGO-feasts

In May and June in Moscow shopping malls and in some other cities in Russia TLC is holding LEGO-fan feasts. It is expected there will be lots of different contests with prizes and gifts. LEGO-fans will also be able to build a huge Lego model with Lego-bricks. In the nearest future, in Moscow on two "construction sites" Lego-fans will be building a larger-scale "Fantasy Castle".

"Vehicles of the Future" Contest

According to the information from our member LEGO-мастер who refers to LEGO Russia, LEGO is holding a contest: "Vehicles of the Future". You should build your Vehicles of the Future MOC and send the image to russia@lego.com before the end of the month. The winner will be able to visit Legoland in Billund (Denmark). The results will be published in #9 "Geolenok" (a popular magazine for kids in Russia).

LEGO Bricks are Changing?

DoubleBrick.ru has obtained a top secret image of a new Lego Brick design from one of TLG labs. The image contains a blueprint of the really new brick connection system. The main feature is that there will be no more studs and tubes. All new connecting studs are of the same type and can be put together in any way. Plus to that they will be on every side of the brick. Thus the number of various combinations will multiply
